The Black Contractors Association Alabama Chapter (BCAAC) honours the life, legacy, and extraordinary leadership of Mr Larry James, founder of James Paving, a premier paving company in the State of Alabama, and one of the original founding members of our organization.
Mr Larry James was a pillar in Alabama’s construction industry, respected for his excellence, admired for his work ethic, and valued for his unwavering commitment to creating opportunities for Black contractors. For decades, James Paving stood as a model of craftsmanship, integrity, and professionalism under his leadership.
As a founding member of the Black Contractors Association Alabama Chapter and a member of our Executive Team, Mr James helped shape the direction and mission of BCAAC from its inception. His voice, experience, and wisdom guided our growth, strengthened our advocacy, and elevated the presence of Black owned businesses throughout the construction community.
Beyond his business accomplishments, Mr James was known as a devoted husband to Mrs Britania James, a loving father, and a trusted friend and brother to many across the state. His kindness, generosity, and quiet strength left a lasting impact on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
His passing leaves a tremendous void in our association and in Alabama’s business community. Yet his influence will continue to live on in the roads he built, the professionals he inspired, and the many doors he helped open for future generations.
We extend our sincere condolences and prayers to Mrs Britania James, his children, and the entire James family. The Black Contractors Association Alabama Chapter stands with you today, and we pledge to carry forward the legacy and vision that Mr Larry James helped establish.
